Dog Training Classes

From Puppy School to More Advanced Skills

We offer a variety of dog training group classes suitable for dogs of all ages and breeds, including puppy classes, to keep your dog mentally stimulated and help prevent behaviour problems. We use positive reinforcement training methods to reward good behaviours with the overriding goal of creating a closer bond between you and your dog.

Puppy Classes

for puppies under 20 weeks old at the start of the class

5 x 1 hour weekly puppy training group classes.

You will learn all the basic puppy training skills needed to have a well behaved, socialised dog and also be taught the knowledge necessary to set you and your puppy up for success. All breeds are welcome!

  • 5 x 1 hour weekly class

    This class is designed for puppies under the age of five months old at the start of the class. It aims to give you the basic training skills and necessary knowledge to raise a happy and well behaved dog.

    What to expect?

    Socialisation is not letting your puppy loose with other puppies to play and wish for the best. Instead, good socialisation teaches a puppy to coexist with other dogs without being afraid or boisterous.

    Puppies' interactions are therefore carefully managed to ensure that they all have a great, positive experience.

    We only take a maximum of 6 puppies per class, so we can still offer individualised attention during the sessions.

    Covering:

    • Toilet training

    • Basic obedience (e.g. sit, lay down, foundations of recall and loose leash walk)

    • Socialisation (e.g. polite play, accustomed to city life, noises and objects)

    • How to prevent behavioural problems such as separation anxiety

    • Confidence building activities (e.g obstacle course, interactive play, sniffing and sensory games to mental stimulate the development of their brain)

    • Responsible dog ownership

    • First round of vaccinations required at least 1 week prior the course.

    • Puppy not older than 20 weeks old at the start of the course.

    • Flat collar or harness, fabric leash (no extendable, half-choke collar or slip leash).

    • Plenty of treats / kibbles (please no raw food).

    • Ideally a training pouch.

Intermediate Training Classes

for Dogs with some basic training & their owners that enjoy dog training.

5 x 1 hour weekly dog training group classes.

Welcome to high-school! This class is for dogs with some basic training to continue learning and master more complex behaviours (e.g. heel, leave, drop, stay, recall). It’s not suitable for dogs that need socialisation or are reactive.

  • 5 x 1 hour weekly class

    This dog training group class is designed for any dogs with some basic training to continue learning and master more complex behaviour. It is not suitable for anxious dogs or dogs that lack socialisation.

    They will be a mix of indoor/outdoor activities (weather depend).

    We take maximum 6 dogs per class.

    Covering:

    • Impulse control (e.g. leave it, drop it, sit when greeting someone)

    • Road safety cues (e.g. stay, look at me)

    • Recall (e.g. disengaging from playing with other dogs)

    • How to walk nicely without pulling on the leash (heel work)

    • How to keep your dog’s attention when you’re surrounded by distractions (e.g. squirrels, other dogs, people)

    • Good manners in and out of the house (e.g. no jumping at guests)

    • Calm behaviours (e.g. settle in a busy environment)

    • How to understand what your dog is saying AKA dog communication.

    • How to prevent behavioural problems (dog aggression towards other dogs or strangers, jumping to greet strangers)

    • Responsible dog ownership.

    IMPORTANT:

    This class is not designed to help with an aggressive dog. We do not offer aggressive dog training group class. Please get in touch for a behavioural consultation if you need help with an aggressive dog.

    • Basic training level required (e.g. sit, lay down, responding to their name)

    • Females cannot be in season

    • Flat collar or harness, and a fabric leash (no extendable, slip leash, half choke collar, gentle leader or Halti head collar)

    • Plenty of treats

    • No biting history or any signs of aggression (e.g. growling, lunging, barking aggressively) towards other dogs or person. If this is your dog’s case, please get in touch for a behavioural consultation.

Outdoors Practical Skills Classes

Structured outdoor dog training group class. not suitable for very reactive dogs.

These classes are designed for existing clients to come together to practice their dog’s training skills in real life settings (e.g. park). We focus on how dogs communicate (dog body language), dog socialisation, and training skills required to prevent behaviour problems (e.g. recall, heel).

  • Each social walk lasts up to 1 hour.

    They are great for puppies / dogs to socialise and interact with other dogs in a safe and controlled environment. In addition, they are ideal for you to practice your dog training skills your dog needs to avoid having a dog that is unfairly labelled as an “ aggressive dog ” because it runs to say “ hi “ to everyone and has no recall.

    What to expect?

    Each social walk is different and tailored to the group's needs. Depending on the walk, we will meet either in a park or a public space (e.g. a cafe). We aim for these walks to be fun and social for dogs and humans but educational at the same time.

    Depending on the walk, we will cover:

    • Recall

    • Loose leash walking

    • Impulse control

    • Settling

    • Using toys as a reward,

    • Learning about dog body language (e.g. ability to recognise good dog interactions and when to intervene)

    • Chatting about anything and everything dog related.

    Important:

    Social walks are only available for existing clients with dogs that we judge will have a good time together.

    If we haven't met yet, you will be required to book an initial consultation to assess whether your dog will benefit from this activity and otherwise offer you any immediate advice.

    Social walks are not suitable for aggressive dogs or fearful dogs. Please get in touch for a Behavioural Consultation if this is your case.

Brain Fitness Class

Brain Fitness Dog Training Class

Variety of fun activities to keep your dog mentally and physically healthy

Currently offering this as private dog training session at the centre. Activities are designed for puppies' development, dogs that cannot exercise outside, help shy dogs build confidence, and for the more exuberant ones to learn how to stay focused.

  • Each class lasts up to 1 hour.

    These classes are a great way to bond with your dog, but most importantly, they are fun! They are held indoors, so they are ideal when it's miserable outside.

    What to expect?

    Each class is different! They aim to stimulate your dog's physical and learning abilities by teaching them to focus on specific activities and meet their needs, such as sniffing, exploring, and socialising.

    Covering:

    Think of a fitness circuit! They range from fun agility and mobility skills, focus training, mental stimulation games, and collaboration training to scent work.

    Important:

    Classes are only available for existing clients with dogs that we judge will have a good time together.
